Senior Football Match Report v Sylvesters
Date: 2nd June 2010
Venue: St.Annes 9
Competition: AFL 1 round 7
Raheny 0-8 Sylvesters 0-12
A dissapointing result for the lads who came into this game on the back of a good win against Erins Isle. Raheny started well with Eoin Delaney and John Ryan causing Sylvesters numerous problems in defence. However, Sylvesters showed they are top of the league for a reason and came back into the game with a series of quick points to put them into the driving seat at half time where they led by 4 points.
Sylvesters started the second half brightly and went 6 points clear before the introduction of Ciaran Whelan gave Raheny a lift and brought them back into the game with 3 points in it in the dying moments. Sylvesters would not be denied thought and saw out the game to win by 4 points. Raheny move on to two tough league fixtures in a few weeks against Ballyboden and Oliver Plunketts.
