Under 10s V Vincents

27th May 2010

Raheny - 4 Vincents - 4

What a keen contest on a gorgeous sunning evening on 26th of May, at Ard Scoil Ris.
This had all the makings of a close contest and our players were up to the challenge.
Notable performances in the first half came from Caragh, Roisin,Katelyn and Ciara Morgan.
Final first half score was 3-2 to Raheny. Score one was a scramble between Katelyn, Aoife,
Caragh and Roisin. Score 2 was a quick reaction from Katelyn. Score 3 was a superbly taken
effort from Roisin McDonagh. The 2nd half was always going to be tough, with a slight uphill.
The best performances were from Caria Gallagher, Rachel Kirby and Aoife. Great battles were
won up and down the pitch. The girls were in the thick of the action, blocking down their opponents.
The game went 3-3, but there was more. Half way through the 2nd half produced a super strike from Aoife Lawlor who rocketed the sliotar to the back of the goal, but the St. Vincent keeper did well to get a touch, but it was always goal bound. This brought the game to 4-3 for Raheny, but Vincents levelled the game with a 45 about 6 minutes from the end. Well done to all the crew: Dearbhla Peppard, Molly Gaffey,Rachel Kirby, Dearbhla Gorman, Ciara Gallagher, Caragh Downey, Ciara Morgan, Ellie Loftus, Katelyn Close, Aoife Lawlor, Alison McMorrow and Roisin McDonagh.

Raheny - 0 St Vincents – 3

Another great battle took place in the second game. Two cousins Ciara Dodd and Niamh Heatherton
(St Vincents) fought hard against each other. Ciara Dodd had her best performance to
date and  it was evident that she comes from pedigree stock. The first half was even
and Raheny had the ball in the goal mouth but didn’t manage to get a score. Great
tackling by Rachael Kilbane, Ashling Horan and Katie Grehan who are  improving
performances in every match. Nicole Crowely had a hugh work rate as usual .
Great defending by Abbey Denis, Kate Bissett and Ciara Storey . New comer Sarah Murphy
pulled off come great saves on goal. Sinead Stack,Caitriona curry and Aoife Baldwin
had a few attempt at goal but it was to be Vincents day.
